Entering Day Eight of our Mate 20 Countdown, we look at the dimensions of previous Mate models and competitors, so that we can have a general idea what the new Mate 20 will look like.
From GSMArena.com, the rumoured aspect ratio is 19.5:9 which brings the height of the Mate 20 up from the Mate 10 Pro, which had an aspect ratio of 18:9. This is line with the trend of making taller aspect ratio phones, instead of wide. This is a seemingly good trend, given that wide aspect ratio phones (16:9) tend to be unwieldy and cumbersome to use daily.
The Mate 8 and Mate 9 Pro both had 16:9 aspect ratio displays, but the Mate 10 Pro bucked the trend and moved into the trendier 18:9 ratio. With the rumoured taller 19.5:9 ratio, the Mate 20 stands ready to be one of the easiest to handle of the entire Mate series.
