
It comes as no surpirse with Sony announcing its sales figures for PSVR reaching close to a million with already 915,000 units as of February this year. Many were frustrated in Malaysia with outlets selling out the limited stocks alloted with consumers told to register their preorder online only to receive the units in about months time.
Sales of VR gears has picked up with more games being released and many sharing their great experience on social media only to spur more interest on the latest technology on augmented gaming. Sony has made quick move into the space ahead of console makers XBox and Nintendo, and has been thoroughly fruitfull for the company.
“Since its October launch, PS VR continues to be well received by people around the world thanks to the high quality,revolutionary VR experience it offers. With more than 53.4million PS4 units sold globally, we firmly believe PlayStation VR willtake the lead position in the VR market” said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “We are increasing production to meet demand and will continuously support content developers as they create innovative VR experiences that are only possible on PlayStation.”
The key here is games, and there a load on PS with more coming on board, the console maker has announced another 100 additions by end of the year and currently has 360 developers and publishers working on new softwares, movies and music. There are more than 220 software titles and content in development for PS VR with highly anticipated launches on their way, including ACE COMBAT 7, FINAL FANTASY XV, STEEL COMBAT TEKKEN 7, Farpoint, Gran Turismo Sport in addition to video content.
