5 Of The Best April Fool’s Gags 2019

Let’s round up some of the better April Fool’s jokes of the year. Now, mind you, I’m not really a fan of companies doing it, but some of these are just outrageously ridiculous. I mean, if you’re putting up a ‘prank’, at least try to make it believable you know? Anyway, let’s get right into it. Also, just to let you know, this list is in no particular order, just the ones we think were sort of interesting.

Google’s Screen Cleaner

Google went kinda soft this year. They came out with a video depicting their new ‘feature’ in the Files app. It supposedly would be able to clean the exterior of your phone. Check out the video, it’s a little wacky but, meh, standard and safe for a company like Google.

Pornhub/HornHub?

Pornhub last year sent people into a panic when they put up a a pop up claiming they had automaticly shared the video to Facebook. But this year, they didn’t go as hard as they did last year. They essentially changed their site to ‘HornHub’ and was dedicated to all things ‘horny’. Haha, get it? Anyway. It won’t ever top last years gag, but this one got a chuckle out of me.

Grabcopter; Failure To Launch

This one was utterly ridiculous. Grab said they would be starting a new service called ‘GrabFood Copter’ which would deliver food from Singapore to Malaysia. I mean, did this fool anyone? We wrote about this yesterday, when they had to come out with a statement saying it was an April Fool’s prank. I mean, come on. Try at least a little harder you know?

Xiaomi’s Invisible Phone

Now this, was something else. Xiaomi tweeted out they’re coming out with the #XiaomiInvisible. Basically, an invisible phone, with some hilarious pics from this guy posing with the phone doing everyday activities. Of course, not believable in the slightest, but at least it’s funny.

This dude, man.

Durex Mala Flavour – Yum

Durex, oh Durex. This got me. The ridiculousness of their ‘Fish Skin Condom with Mala Hot Pot flavour’ wins this years April Fool’s. It’s just the utter absurdity of it all that makes it funny. And this one, someone could actually believe. As nasty as it sounds, they at least implemented their prank well.

Now to finish up, I’ve gotta mention this. I appreciate companies trying to be funny, and relatable. I mean, one of my favourite Twitter accounts is Wendy’s. They’re always roasting someone, or got something to say. But maybe now these kinds of April Fool’s ‘pranks’ have gotten out of hand. No one really believes it anymore. The magic is gone. The point of it all is to FOOL someone. But seems most companies have forgotten that aspect.
