In line with the recent VidCon event, YouTube announces a number of surprises it has planned in the near future by upgrading its features.

For most YouTubers, filming 360-degree VR videos are never easy and good quality VR cameras can be pretty expensive. In light of this, YouTube and Daydream are working on developing a new format, VR180 and new affordable VR cameras.

The VR180 delivers 3D video while capturing a 180-degree view around you. Creators will only have to worry about recording what’s in front of them and viewers will get an awesome, immersive experience with a VR headset.

For those who use smartphones more than desktops/laptops, you can watch videos from YouTube the way you want to. By using YouTube’s mobile app, the video will dynamically adapt to whatever size you choose to watch it in (vertical, square, horizontal).

That’s not all. Viewers can experience a new sharing feature that lets them share videos right from the YouTube app. It will first be available in Latin America and then throughout the US soon after that.

YouTube TV will also be expanding to ten more markets, namely Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington, D.C., Houston, Atlanta, Pheonix, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne and Charlotte.
