YouTube has a some cool new things coming to its mobile app and it may just make things easier for you. According to a recent blog post by the company, a new Video Chapters feature, a streamlined player page, effective gesture commands, suggested actions and, lastly, Bedtime Reminders are among the updates that will be implemented soon.
First off, to create convenient navigation when viewing a video, the Video Chapters feature has been introduced. With this, if they wish to skip or watch a specific scene again, users will be able to jump directly to a particular video section.
YouTube says that a new list view will also be introduced so that users can notice the total number of chapters available within a video they are watching.
Other than this, as part of its efforts to relocate both the closed caption and the autoplay button, the video sharing platform has introduced a new streamlined video player.
YouTube claims that, thanks to the relocated buttons and snappier controls that the company has worked on, users will now be able to receive faster responses, which, of course, remains to be seen.
The company introduced two separate touch gestures that will allow users to directly enter and exit the full-screen mode.
In order to note the remaining video time, the second gesture enables them to tap the timestamp. Other than that, when the feature is available for certain content, YouTube will also prompt users to play a video in VR mode.
Last but definitely not least, Bedtime reminders are going to prompt YouTube smartly to, well, remind users of their time for bed. As part of its new digital well-being tool, this feature is being introduced. Which the user can customise according to his or her personal preference.
