You Want It, You Got It; Blizzard Extends Double XP Event For World Of Warcraft Players

Fans of World of Warcraft will be pleased to know that the game’s double XP event has been extended.

Having started since 20 March, the event would have ended this coming Monday, on 20 April. It was introduced as an added incentive to stay home, as the situation with the coronavirus continued to escalate.

Blizzard then introduced another the upcoming Impressive Influence event, which will double faction gain for characters and will run from 20 April to 18 May.

The introduction of the event was clearly an indication that Blizzard was going to phase out the double XP buff, but fans wouldn’t have it.

As such, fans have shared their dislike for the new event in Blizzard’s forums and were quite vocal for an extension on double XP.

Those requests did not go unnoticed, as Blizzard later announced an extension of the double XP event. Not only that but its Impressive Influence Event will still go on as planned, so all players will get to enjoy everything.

The best part is, the double XP buff will go through until the release of the Shadowlands pre-patch. There isn’t an exact date yet as to when the expansion will be released, other than that its sometime in 2020.

What’s more, the expansion has just started alpha testing, so players can expect to grind for many months before its pre-patch arrives.

Players now have plenty of time to grind for XP, and will be rewarded with a bunch more content towards the end anyway. It really is a win-win situation for everyone, here.
