Ever come across a moment where you are answering many chats on Whatsapp that you lost track which chats or indeed where your chat went?
Sure you can search but looks like WhatsApp is testing a new feature that makes it easier – pinned chats.
We haven’t tested it ourselves but our friends in Amanz gave it a go and here is how it looks.

It’s not rolled out the general public yet, but it’s already making its rounds in the beta version. Since the beta 2.17.162, users have been able to pin their chats. Users just need to tap and hold any chat, press the pin icon (which appears in the action bar next to delete, mute and archive). Once pinned – well, it’ll be like a pinned post on Facebook or pinned Tweet on Twitter. It’ll be on top regardless of which is your latest conversation.
This is how it looks from a gadgets360 screenshot.

As of now, it looks like you can only pin 3 chats, and you’ll get a small toast notification message saying you can’t pin more. You can always unpin chats and choose another.
The pins are also reflected in the desktop version.

To get this option, you will need WhatsApp beta 2.17.162 or 163, which you can get from the Play Store by joining the official beta then waiting for the app to update.
