The madness in India is astonishing, mob in central India were seen throwing stones at doctors and nurses who were tending to a patient suspected positive of the coronavirus.
Local police source reported that a group had gathered when they heard healthcare officers were at their town to treat the patient and soon became violent, pelting them with stones and pebbles. Apparently, in India doctors in the country fighting the virus are seen as potential carriers of the virus and can spread to the community. Even public healthcare officers are discriminated on fears that they may infect the rest while carrying out their duties.
While the rest of the world including Malaysia, cheers and applauds the selfless high risk work they take upon attending to patients, the Indian people have a totally misguided view. A nation with a population of 1.3 billion is dangerously bordering of being the next epicenter if strict orders are not put in place. One can only image the gravity of the spread if India spirals into an uncontrollable pandemic. Government officials and medical workers acknowledge the growing problem and have called upon its citizens to stop attacking the very people who are trying to save lives.
Separately, medical staffs in New Delhi are not welcomed by their own family and event refused entry back to the community on fear of bringing the coronavirus back after dealing with the many patients in the hospital. Some doctors have also reported of being thrown out of their apartment by landlords and have their electricity bills cut.
The ridiculousness continues.
