If you were having problems in the wee hours this morning chatting on WhatsApp – you’re not alone.
According to reports and the official statement, WhatsApp was down globally “for a few hours” and should be now fixed and accessible.
“Earlier today, WhatsApp users in all parts of the world were unable to access WhatsApp for a few hours,” a spokesperson said. “We have now fixed the issue and apologize for the inconvenience.”
There were no cause given so we still don’t know what made it go down. While most users appear to have no problems accessing it, TechRadar reported that DownDetector is still looking at a few areas affected by outage.
The outage was reported to have been between around 1am to around 3am this morning Malaysian time. At time of writing, this writer hasn’t had much problems with WhatsApp, but if you are still experiencing problems sending or receiving messages, the official statement is it’s coming back online.
Sit tight and enjoy some peace and quiet?
