As we live in the midst of a pandemic, one thing people have been doing more than ever, is video calling. It’s unprecedented the amount of people trying to video call me on any given day now, compared to before this whole lockdown thing started.
Friends from across the world are now realising, ‘oh hey, this guy exists’ and calling just to see what’s up. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great, but when it comes to group video calls, it’s abysmal as you can only have four people connected at a time on WhatsApp.
Now, according to the latest WhatsApp beta discovered by Wabetainfo, in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.20.128 update, they found new strings that suggest the feature coming to Android:

You’ll of course, need the latest WhatsApp version to use the new group call limit, but as of now, the feature is still foggy. We don’t yet know how many people the limit will increase to, but it will definitely be more than 5. Otherwise, what was the point? The feature is yet to be released, but we can hope for it soon.
Now, more than ever, people are doing group video calls to check up while we’re social distancing and staying at home. The faster, the better, so let’s hope the update is released soon.
