We just heard off the rumour mill that WhatsApp is currently being tested to run on iPad. With 1 billion users, it is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. Website WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp on iPad will have similar features to the iPhone version of the app. The interface will be redesigned to fit iPad to include split chat view. The new chat screen has a split screen style similar to WhatsApp Web, where users can see the chats they have ongoing with multiple users on the left, and a single conversation thread with one user or group on the right.
It is possible that the iPad needs to be a cellular version with a SIM card. WhatsApp for iPad supports Voice Calls and Touch ID like the iPhone iOS app. There will not be a Camera app but tab for Chats, Status and calls.
There is no word yet on availability but keep an eye out on the latest app updates on your device.
