As Euro 2016 heats up on the pitch, two exciting mobile network operators make a sharp return giving customers data packages that keep them twitting till late night or early mornings of the games.
YES, having already announced its data package one day earlier, Webe the wireless network player ironically also started as a Wimax operator P1, weighed in with a rather different offerings. As the telco seeks to change the landscape high expectation are riding on the network operator to democratise data plans that for long have been controlled by Maxis Celcom and Digi.
Open to invitees only, the plan starts at RM199 with unlimited data, calls and sms for webe members and TM customers for now. As listed on the website, the plan is for new members who have signed up with webe since inception, and for those on P1 will have to wait for the public offerings. Based on the digital brochure, similar plans could be expected by Webe when the plans are opened up without much changes, as the proposition from April when CEO CC Puan launched brand has been the leverage TM will bring to the table.
Clearly, convergence play is at work here with the data plans, Unifi and TM customers will soon see more bundle deals like the one above, combining fixed and wireless.
Heres what Webe had to say:
Well, we start today. From 9 a.m. this morning, selected TM customers & webe (previously P1) members will receive emails inviting them to be part of the new webe mobile service. Our community of loyal customers come first, because they’ve been with us since the beginning. But don’t fret if you’re not yet a TM customer or webe member, we’ll be welcoming you on board soon too!
We have one simple plan. It costs RM199 per month for as many calls, text and data usage as you want or need. The plan only gets better and better with rebates bringing your bill as low as RM 79 per month, and up to RM49 per month for family members.
No contracts and sims delivered straight to your doorstep- promising to be digital all the way without customers needing to visit retail stores. These are some of the perks laid out for those using Webe, now the challenge has been thrown for others to buck up.
