When it comes to superheroes, there are far and few between that’s more iconic than the Batman. Bruce Wayne is a bad ass and the fact that he doesn’t even have any superpowers makes it all the more amazing. Now, when you think of Batman, you think of two things– The batsuit and the batmobile. Seeing as we’ve already seen Robert Pattinson in the Batsuit, the batmobile reveal has been eagerly anticipated.

With the film due for release on 25th June 2021, I guess The Batman Director Matt Reeves figured it’s about time we got a look at the Batmobile, and it is NOT what we expected.. but in a good way. With pretty much every Batmobile in recent memory going for an over the top look, either looking like a space ship or a tank, Matt Reeves version is more toned down, and is actually a car.

Don’t get me wrong, it is undeniably a Batmobile; it has a massive exposed engine, swooping fenders, and angular brake lights. But at the same time.. for the first time, the concept of the Batmobile is one of a modified muscle car rather than one built from scratch. There is no over the top fin, or an outer body that looks like it belongs on something from the military. This Batmobile is a throwback to the early days of Batman, and we’re loving it.

It looks like Reeves is coming through on his previous statements about how his movie will lean towards a film noir angle, with Batman playing the role of detective more than anything else. He’s also said that it won’t be an origin story but instead an exploration of the beginnings of the character. With that in mind, this spruced up muscle car is the perfect Batmobile to Robert Pattinson’s detective of a character.

We already can’t wait!
