We Could Have Our First Look At The PS5 As Soon As June 3rd; ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN!

Renders of the PS5

Sony has been rampantly building up to their reveal of their next-gen gaming console, the PlayStation 5. Now, a new report from Bloomberg has shined a light on a potential new event coming up “as early as next week,”. From talk online and others confirming the event, with many saying it’s scheduled for next Wednesday, June 3.

This event will apparently kick off other PS5 events, which will be coming up over the next few weeks and months. Which essentially is a whole ramp up to the release scheduled for Holidays 2020. This information, as I mentioned earlier comes from Bloomberg who spoke with people with “direct knowledge of the matter”. However, they also noted that while June 3rd is the scheduled date, “plans have been in flux and the date may change.”

At this point, it’s a hit or miss.

Don’t get your hopes up too high though, as Sony isn’t expected to reveal everything about the PlayStation 5 at their very first event. Maybe potentially our first look at the games lineup, or maybe even at the console itself? Either way, I’m hyped.

This also aligns with what President and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said earlier this month, where he announced that Sony will indeed be showing games on the next-gen console “soon”.

Over the last few months, PlayStation have trickled down information starting with revealing their controllers for the PS5, DualSense. They also ramped things up with the Unreal Engine 5 demo running on a PS5 with Epic Games. At this point, it was just a matter of time before they started their marketing strategy and building up hype as Microsoft at this point hasn’t left anything to the imagination.

Let’s see what Sony have in store for us in the coming weeks. I have a feeling it’s gonna be a doozy.
