Water Disruption In Nearly 300 Areas For FOUR Days Next Week; Best Prepare Yourself

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd has announced that there’s going to be yet another water disruption next week, and 290 areas in the Klang Valley are going to be affected. I know what you’re thinking, yet another water disruption? Well, this time it’s because the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 Water Treatment Plant (SSP3 WTP) is going to be going through some repair and improvement works so I guess it’s for the best, right?

According to Abas Abdullah, the head of operations for Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, the disruption is set to start on the 14th of July 2020 at 9am and is set to last for four days before the plant becomes fully operational again at 5pm on the 17th of July 2020.

That being said though, not all of the affected areas (which include the Petaling district, Klang, Gombak, KL and Kuala Langat) will get their water supply back on the 15th. Approximately 48 percent of the affected areas are expected to receive their water supply by 9am on the 16th of July 2020.

According to Abdullah, “By 9am on July 17, the water supply recovery rate is expected to have reached 80 percent, followed by full recovery by 5pm the following day.” In preparation of this, critical premises such as hospitals and dialysis centres will see water tankers mobilised in the area.

He also advised all 420,000 of Air Selangor’s affected account holders to make preparations for the disruption. So basically, ya’ll better not just stock up on water but use it wisely ok! Here’s the full list of all the affected areas:
