I remember my first Logitech mouse – the infamous MX518. It had been the one that made me swore to stand by Logitech mice ever since. So when I received the G402 Hyperion Fury for review, the first question that came into my mind is: “Will it be as good as the MX518?” The second question: “Can I keep it?”

Comfortable Stretch
First things first, the G402 is a comfortable mouse. When compared to the G300, the G402 is long enough that I could grip it with my palm easily. The rubber pads on both sides of the mouse are also comfortable. Fully complementing the feel is the DPI of the mouse – a feature that can easily be changed by using the DPI Shift button located on the side of the left mouse button. Holding it down allows you to temporarily drop the DPI of the mouse, allowing for precise movements.

Hair Trigger
Performance wise, the G402 is almost perfect. It responds with the slightest touch and when moved, it glides smoothly across my table. The easily changeable DPI means I can make the mouse as sensitive as I want it to be with minimal fuss. However, I have one small worry about the G402 – the rubber grip. Based on my experience, this material tend to degrade over time, making them uncomfortable to touch. It’s something alcohol can fix but, so best to always have some on-hand.
