So the Vivo NEX series has been the flagship series of Vivo smartphones and after months of teases, rumours have now been circulating that the next generation of the Vivo NEX will be launched in October this year!
According to the Weibo source, a device dubbed the “Vivo NEX 3” will come with a Waterfall screen design with its edges on both sides curved like a waterfall, hence the name. It kind of looks like the curved screens you see on the Samsung S series or the Huawei P30 series. The presence of the “waterfall” display might actually lead to Vivo replacing the traditional side buttons with touch sensitive ones. On top of that, based on the leaked drawings, it looks like the front camera will be an under-display one.
Vivo NEX Product Manager, Li Xiang, also leaked a design sketch on his Weibo which hints that the upcoming vivo NEX 3 might have an odd Triple Rear camera setup, with an aesthetic thats similar to that of a mechanical watch.
The phone is also rumoured to have a 5G version, seeing as there’s going to be a 5G Version of vivo iQOO Pro. However, there’s not been any confirmation as to the final design or specifications on the device as there’s been no official word from Vivo Malaysia as of yet.
I guess all we can do is watch and wait for them to announce something official. If its anything like the drawings though, the phone is going to be a looker.
