Vivo Nex 3 5G Debuts With Full Google Suite

Smartphone launch season kicks off again, starting with Samsung followed by Apple and Huawei with the rest tagging along. The protagonists had their month of fame and in our books the Galaxy Note10 remains to be the device to beat with the iPhone 11 falling short of expectation and the Mate30 missing a big part without Google.

The good news is not all Chinese phones are in the same quandary as Huawei, Vivo is taking the torch for Middle Kingdom in the global arena with the launch of the NEX 3 smartphone series that features 5G and 4G capability. The NEX 3 5G uses enhanced technology including upgraded antenna design such as a 5G-6 antenna and gets its power from Snapdragon 855 Plus, Qualcomm’s first 5G chipset. It has UFS 3.0 high-speed flash memory, capable of ultra-high download speeds (over 1Gbps), ultra-low latency, dual WLAN Acceleration technology and can use two Wi-Fi signal networks at the same time for better speeds.

Worried about battery consumption, Vivo allays that fear with a super capacity 4500mAh battery and offers Super FlashCharge 44W and C-DRX power-saving technologies that will long lasting usage.  The Vapor Chamber Cooling System supplies power while keeping the device cool even with heavy 5G usage. The NEX 3 5G is equipped with 8GB/12GB+256GB storage, supports global frequency bands and NFC.

Design Element

The Nex 3 uses a new POLED Waterfall FullView Display giving the device a seamless edge to edge screen, a trend most flagships are resorting to nowadays. Building on its predecessor’s display design, NEX 3 5G’s screen extends along two sides – the dual curved borderless design gives users extended views and a more immersive visual experience. It comes at 6.89 inches, a notch-free display with screen-to-body ratio of 99.6%.

Buttonless, the NEX 3 5G hides physical buttons from sight, touch-controlled unibody design and with the X-axis Haptic Vibration motor, Touch Sense can respond with haptic feedback just like physical buttons. On the rear sits three cameras a 64MP main camera, 13MP wide-angle camera and a 13MP telescopic camera – giving wide-angle, telescopic and macro capabilities to the Nex 3 5G. As for the front a 16MP camera offers basic purposeful photos.

The upgraded AI assistant, manages all systems in the phone, boosting speeds whenever needed, understanding user behaviour for better experience delivery and includes Jovi Smart Scene, which supports users with daily tasks, and AI Video Editor, which enables users  cleverly identifying faces and moments from videos and create highlight reels.

Vivo claims the NEX 3 series as the phones to be desired for 2019 and will be capping the year with this proudly made 5G device, units will be available in the coming months in Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia and other markets.
