Currently users will have to use their credit card or payment gateway account to acquire services or goods, but since 100% of customers are on their mobile, wouldn’t it be convenient if they could just direct debit from their prepaid credit or have it charged in their phone bill? Now they can with U Mobile.
The telco has partnered with Docomo Digital which has a proven track record in providing carrier billing technology to telcos across from various countries. With this collaboration, all those using the network could even go on Google Play Store and purchase apps and services without the need of credit card details. Docomo partners with mobile network operators, digital and real world merchants, regulators, financial industry players to ensure that the ecosystem built meets the future of a better connected life.
Jasmine Lee, U Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer, highlighted that this is just one of many new and beneficial services that the telco will be introducing to their customers who are very digitally savvy.
“A majority of U Mobile’s customers are smartphone users and based on our insights, they are avid users of digital services. Hence, we wanted to give a seamless option for our customers to purchase their desired services even if they do not own a credit or debit card. This new service also makes the payment process extremely seamless as they do not need to worry about having to input extensive details such credit card numbers and contacts.”
