Uber And Canon Seek To Unlock Hidden Gems In KL

Often not the best places to hang out or explore are those not listed in any fancy brochures or expensive commercials. Hidden trails are for the initiated and adventurous, Kuala Lumpur apart from its concrete jungle and the hustle and bustle of a modern city life is also laden with hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Seeking to shine some light on these places, ride sharing service Uber and Canon are teaming up to uncover them in promotional campaign that will see three photographers going on a journey across Kuala Lumpur, as well as Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Manila and Singapore.

According to data compiled by Uber, it listed locations like Serani Row, KL Forest Eco Park and Lorong Panggung among the most underrated hidden gems in Kuala Lumpur.  In partnership with Canon, these insights were then used as inspiration by leading photographers, namely Ida, Patrick and Jane Chuck to bring to life the stories of these places through compelling visual imagery.

The data was gathered following a comprehensive analysis of drop-off points across Singapore,
Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City, which was complemented using additional
research around the areas surrounding these destinations. According to Eshan Ponnadurai, Director, Brand and Strategy Asia-Pacific at Uber, the campaign is part of Uber’s mission of unlocking the potential of cities by harnessing technology.

Canon will be working on this campaign to promote its compact mirrorless, the EOS M class camera’s allowing users to uncover and capture their unique perspective of their cities through the lens of the highly acclaimed shooters.
