U Mobile Kicks-Off 2016 Liga Premier Malaysia As Official Sponsor

Streaks of orange will run across the football field with the new sponsor on board, U Mobile is taking Malaysia’s favourite pastime to w new height with their announcement of sponsorship of the Superbest Power Piala FA and Liga Premier Malaysia for three years, starting from the 2016 season.

The partnership will give the telco access to marketing, promotion and engagement opportunities around the two competitions, in-stadium branding, corporate hospitality and use of the club and player image rights for advertising purposes.

To mark the partnership, U Mobile has created an exclusive customer campaign called #BangsaBola which consists of on-ground activities, as well as contests where football fans may win a chance at getting up close and personal with their favourite players. A microsite is also being developed for fans to view match highlights up to 1 minute per round and other football related content. It will go live next month.

To further heighten the excitement around the Superbest Power Piala FA and Liga Premier Malaysia, U Mobile has even created a rallying cry, “Semangat Bola, Jiwa Juara”, for fans to show their support for the team they are rooting for.

The deal between U Mobile and FMLPP was brokered by leading sports media rights agency MP & Silva.

U Mobile Sdn Bhd Chief Marketing Officer, Jasmine Lee said: “We are delighted to be the official co-sponsor for the Superbest Power Piala FA and Liga Premier Malaysia. We believe this partnership is a natural fit as many of our customers are football fans. Through this collaboration, we are able to give greater value and user experience to our customers by bringing them closer to the game they love. This is especially true with the customized app that U Mobile will be developing for Malaysia’s top tier tournaments. Our customers will be able to get regular updates and watch interviews via their smartphone, another opportunity for them to enjoy our data strength and speeds.”

Football Malaysia LLP Chief Executive Officer Kevin Ramalingam on the other hand stated “We’re very excited that U Mobile has come on board to support Malaysian Football. The increasing support from homegrown commercial enterprises towards our league and cup competitions highlights that we’re on the right track to elevating the status of local football.”

Dato Hamidin Hj Mohd Amin, General Secretary of FAM added “We are delighted with this partnership as it highlights our shared goal of taking Malaysia Football to greater heights. Having a local sponsor such as U Mobile will certainly be key to building a bright future as it will contribute towards professionalising our leagues and cup tournaments.”

The 2016 season of the Superbest Power Piala FA kicked off on the 19 February while the first game of Liga Premier Malaysia began on 12 February.
