For those living in the Puchong Kinrara vicinity, the densely populated area in Selangor woke up to a disruptive morning when their internet lines failed on them. Businesses, homes and people who are accustomed to reliable, smooth, fast broadband connection can longer accept a slight slow down or disconnect. TM the main provider of fibre lines under its Unifi brand name is often blamed for connectivity lost, but in recent cases the telecommunication giant has been posting news update on its social media platform highlighting the real reason for some of the disruption, and in the case of Kinrara downtime the fault apparently lies from another GLC.
The incident in Kinarara occurred after Tenaga Nasional contractors were seen digging up along the highway around the same area where TM fibre lines are running. The heavy equipment and back hoe used had accidentally severed crucial Unifi cables that connects the town to the main points. After receiving multiple complaints, Telekom technicians were quickly deployed to the scene to reestablish connection, last update shows they are still working on restoring the internet service to the area.
