TM in ongoing discussions with government to address issues face by Streamyx customers

The nation’s pioneer broadband provider, Telekom Malaysia (TM) is committed to upgrade its broadband performance and has undertaken initiatives to conduct discussions with the government and the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia to address issues faced by Streamyx users.

The broadband provider will be playing an active part in the dialogue towards delivering high speed broadband as well as provide a wider nationwide coverage to all Malaysians.

TM has continuously pumped investment into infrastructure over the years in order to elevate the experience of both its services, Unifi and Streamyx. Highlighting the primary focus which is to focus on expanding coverage, the copper network which is a legacy network faces many challenges to live up to the constant needs of the netizens due to the time constraints as well as heavy financial implications.

This announcement will mark a collaborative win-win approach with the Government to face the challenges head on and tackle them as well as explore funding options.

An update on the ongoing upgrade exercise for its Streamyx customers, the broadband service provider has successfully upgraded nearly 50% of 340,000 customers residing in Unifi coverage areas.  Those eligible for the speed upgrade will be contacted via email and phone.
