With permission given to telecommunication company in attending calls from customers to install communication lines or internet services, Telekom Malaysia is all ready to resume its installation on backlog orders.
Millions are stuck at home with the MCO, for those who already have broadband or internet services it cant be more apt at this moment. Imagine being locked down at home without these services, students wont be able to catch up on their studies, small business vendor wont be able to offer his produce online and there will no entertainment option too. TM is ready to get its Unifi team rolling and start fulfilling orders as of now and has devised options for customers. Since the lifting on the restriction is now allowed for the Green Zone which is certified to free from Covid 19, installers can move into premises and have lines fixed or problem cases resolved. This is pretty straight forward, however those in Yellow and Red Zone will have to opt for another solution TM has, which is Unifi Air. Here, customers will have to set up the equipment’s themselves with the assistance from the technical team at TM.
This will be also subject to LTE coverage in the area, as Unifi Air uses mobile telecommunication network just like a smartphone. For those is the Yellow zone waiting for the fixed broadband will also receive Unifi Air as interim solution. Its most fortunate the government has allowed such essential services to resume, there has been a surge in subscription for internet services as many people now need to get things done online.
As for the operation period, in compliance with the guidelines provided by MCMC, all installation, restoration and maintenance works will be done from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm only.
