Telekom Malaysia (TM) today received the ISO 45001:2018 certification, the world’s first International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) from NIOSH Certification Sdn Bhd (NCSB), a subsidiary of National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The certification was awarded at the soft launch of the 22nd Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) 2019, organised by NIOSH at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
TM is the first telecommunication company in Malaysia to be certified with the ISO 45001:2018 by NCSB.
The standard, which is globally recognised, demonstrates that a company has a robust occupational health and safety management system in place. The latest version of the framework for the standard is designed to further improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and accommodate health and safety challenges related to increased global trade.
Mohd Farid Shah Mohd Basir, Chief Human Capital Officer, TM who is also the Chairman of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) committee at TM, received the certification on behalf of the Company.

At the same event, Fiberail Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of TM was accorded the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001:2007 certification, an internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management system.
