Chinese manufacturer Vensmile has revealed a pretty unique product that combines a portable rubber keyboard with a mini-PC and touchpad surface. Basically, everything you need for a desktop PC, minus a monitor and headphones.
It’s called the K8 Foldable Keyboard Mini PC, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. Far from being a powerhouse, the K8 is powered by an Intel Atom X5 Z8300 ‘Cherry Trail’ processor. This quad core is built on the 14nm node and has an operating frequency of 1.44GHz with a Boost clock of 1.84GHz. This low-powered CPU allows the K8 to use a 5V, 3A input. The integrated Intel HD graphics can display up to 1980 x 1080, so full HD monitors or TVs should be fully compatible. It comes shipped with Windows 10 and has HDMI, VGA, 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, a card slot and audio jack. Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi 2.4-5.8g/b/g/n support is available too.
The full price of the K8 is US$249, but the promo price of US$199 makes it a really great value buy. Oh, and it’s apparently waterproof too.
