The Triple Black Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 Returns & It’s Probably The Closest We’ll Get To A Triple Black 1.0 Reissue

When Adidas came up with the concept of the Ultra Boost, they designed it with comfort and performance in mind. It is after all, a running shoe. No one expected it to take the world of streetwear by storm but it did it anyway, and why not? It was a gem of a shoe. Not only did slipping on a pair make you feel like you were walking on clouds, but in a time where cuffed joggers were on the rise, its silhouette complemented pretty much everyone’s fit.

The UB 1.0’s are of course the OG’s and the series was soon followed by a 2.0 model and so on. While the 2.0 had a gradient on it’s upper, it wasn’t quite the same. The 3.0 and 4.0 versions brought with it a primeknit upper that actually looked like what you would imagine something called primeknit would look like but again, not quite the same. Anyway my point is this: Versions 2.0-4.0 all maintain the same 1.0 silhouette but given the variation in the uppers, didn’t really hit the same sweet spot that the 1.0 did.

With the launch of the Ultra Boost 19 and 20 however, Adidas spruced things up and I don’t know man the design just isn’t for me. That being said, the triple black UB is a coveted colourway, and with the way things are currently going, Adidas announcement of a return of the triple black 4.0s are probably the closest you’ll get to paying retail price a pair of triple black UBs that still have that 1.0 silhouette.

You can expect the sneakers to hit adidas.com in the coming weeks. Sadly, no news of a Malaysian release as of yet BUT here’s an alternative that we think looks just as sick— The Adidas Ultra Boost Leather in a triple black colourway. The sneakers consist of a premium leather upper on a black boost midsole. Not only do the shoes look premium, they feel premium too. Top that off with a sick on-feet silhouette and you’ve got yourself a winner.
