Samsung have now finally announced the global launch of their Odyssey G7 gaming monitor and is expected to be available in stores this month. The monitor is the world’s first gaming monitor with 1000R curvature, and based on first looks it looks pretty crazy. Not in a bad way, it’s just pretty out there. The monitor was unveiled earlier this year at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, and now it’s making its way to consumers.
The monitor as I mentioned, has a 1000R curvature which means it has a curvature radius of 1,000 millimeters. It comes with a 1ms response time with 240Hz refresh rate in a QLED display at a WQHD at 2560 x 1440 resolution. The display is also TÜV Rheinland certified, a 16:9 aspect ratio and comes in two sizes: a 27-inch variant and a 32-inch variant.
Other features of the monitor include Quantum dot technology, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility and Adaptive Sync on DP1.4.
Not only does the display look futuristic, the rest of it follows the same design language. The rear seems to have a matte black exterior and color-changing rear core lighting that can remain static or dim during gameplay, as well as change colors based on your preferences. To me though, it looks like Ironman’s core so that’s pretty cool.
According to Lowyat.net, Samsung Malaysia have confirmed that the Odyssey G7 will be coming over to Malaysia soon. For now, no launch date or price has been revealed, but we should hear about it soon enough.
