The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Is HUGE; Hands On Leak Give Us The Best Look At The Foldable Yet

Samsung’s long awaited unpacked event is set to go on as planned in spite of the coronavirus scares that have put the event in doubt, but the two devices that are supposed to be the centre piece of the South Korean company’s showcase tomorrow have already been leaked extensively on the internet. First we were treated to leak after leak of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series and now, just a day before it’s set to be launched, numerous hands on videos of the Galaxy Z Flip have leaked and boy does it look HUGE.

Samsung’s second foldable to hit the market is going to be one that has a horizontal hinge, ultimately giving it a clamshell form factor and while there have been ample leaks on the specs of the phone to the point that we know that it’ll probably come with a 6.7-inch, 2,636 x 1,080 screen, Snapdragon 855 Plus, 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, we’ve not really seen much of a hands on with the phone just yet, until now of course.

In the video, which was posted to Chinese networking site Weibo, we get a real idea about how tall the phone actually is, and it looks taller than the average phone, with it’s 22:9 aspect ratio becoming extremely obvious once unfolded. Based on the video, it really does seem like people are going to have trouble using the phone with one hand.

There’s no denying the similarities between the Z Flip and Motorola’s recently relaunched RAZR, though with the Z Flip there’s no massive chin. Samsung’s take on the clamshell will also utilize extra-thin glass insetad of plastic for the screen, with pretty much everyone out there hoping that the hinge functions a hell of a lot better than the Samsung Galaxy Fold.

With rumours circulating that the device could go on sale as soon as Valentine’s Day, you can expect the phone to go on sale soon. Of course the price is yet to be confirmed but it’s speculated that it will be slightly cheaper than Motorola’s $1500 USD RAZR.
