realme Malaysia is introducing a new variant to their realme 6 lineup, which released last month with 4GB RAM / 128GB storage. Now, they’re bumping up the price to give customers a new, more powerful variant with 8GB of RAM.

Other notable features the realme 6 comes with is a 6.5″ FHD+ IPS display capable of a 90Hz refresh rate and 120Hz sampling rate. For the internals, it’s packing a MediaTek Helio G90T processor, 4,300mAh battery capable of a 30W flash Charge with USB-C, and a headphone jack. On the front, the realme 6 sports a 16MP punch-hole camera on the top left corner of the display.

On the rear, the realme 6 has a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and two cameras for macros and portrait modes. For the price, I can see the appeal. But that bump in price might dissuade some customers, where other similarly priced devices like the Redmi Note 9S might seem more favourable.

The realme 6 originally released with a 4GB/128GB variant for RM999. Now, the new variant comes with 8GB/128GB for RM1,199.

This new 8GB variant will be available starting from this Saturday, May 2, so if you were thinking of picking one up, you can check out realme’s Flagship store on Lazada and authorised dealers. The phone comes in two colour variants, Comet White and Comet Blue.
