The New Star Wars Trailer Is Out & It Will Give You All Sorts Of Feels

Disney’s D23 expo was jam packed with announcements. From updates on Disney+ to an Obi Wan TV series, Disney have a lot planned for the near future. The climax of D23 however, was the release of the long awaited trailer to the final installment in the current Star Wars trilogy, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

We’ve all had our theories on how the saga would come to an end and Disney has finally teased what the end could look like and I have to say, WHAT THE LITERAL ****?!?! The trailer opens with a walk down memory lane, with footage from all eight star wars films complete with a voiceover from Luke that is bound to give you them feels. The trailer then shows some footage from The Rise of Skywalker before ending by leaving every Star Wars fan out there with their mouths wide open. You’ll have to watch it for yourself!

The Rise of Skywalker is set to be a big film for the franchise not only because it reunites Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher and Billy Dee Williams but also because it’s the last film in the trilogy and probably for a while as well. Disney will apparently take a break from Star Wars movies citing audience fatigue as the reason why Star Wars spinoff films such as Solo: A star Wars Story didnt do so well at the box office.

The franchise is set to return in 2022 though and with high expectations as well, given that the guys behind Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, will be at the helm. The Rise of Skywalker is set to release on December 20th so make sure you lock down those dates.

Could this be the first Star Wars movie in the sequel trilogy that doesn’t disappoint? Based on the trailer, it sure looks like it. But then again, that was the case with the other trailers as well. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.
