In the matter of hours, so much news has arisen regarding the COVID-19 virus and people being infected. But now, the National Basketball Association has announced that it’ll be suspending all games, after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19.
They then announced the above statement which said “The NBA is suspending gameplay following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice. The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
Utah Jazz were scheduled to play an away game against the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier today, but the game was cancelled just before it was going to start. The player in questions seems to be Rudy Gobert after The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported, and the kinda messed up thing is he even made fun of the virus earlier this week. Like, this has to be the most messed up ironic to happen, but check out the clip below:

He literally goes in to touch all the mics and recorders around him, as he was ‘spreading’ the coronavirus in jest. But looks like life is really a joke when it turns out like this.
The NBA have also announced that Rudy Gobert himself wasn’t in the arena at the time and assured fans that “you are all safe”. This is all so bizarre considering there’s now news that Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson also are infected with the virus. Not to mention the coronavirus being declared global pandemic just earlier today.
This all happened in the matter of hour, so if that’s not enough to get you concerned, I don’t know what will. Stay safe out there guys, sanitise, wash your hands often, and try not to touch your face. Be aware of your surroundings as well, and if you’re sick, stay home dude.
