Did you catch the latest trailer for The LEGO Movie: The Second Part? If you think everything in it was awesome, you may also be happy to know that TT Games and WB Games have announced The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, the latest entry in its long-running LEGO series of video games. The game will launch in 2019, coinciding with the release of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

The game is expected to follow the general plot of The LEGO Movie 2, and will also feature many of its lovable original characters. Confirmed playable characters include Emmett and Lucy from The Lego Movie, as well as other characters such as Benny and Batman. There will be over 100 playable characters for you to choose from once the game releases, and you’ll get to try all of them in two-player coop.

In regards to what’s changed from the usual LEGO games formula, TT Games only mentioned that combat will be improved.

In The LEGO Movie 2, the citizens of Bricksburg face a dangerous new threat when LEGO Duplo invaders from outer space start to wreck everything. It’s now up to Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to defeat the giant marauders and restore harmony to the LEGO universe.

Earlier in the year, the developer released LEGO The Incredibles and LEGO DC Super-Villains, which were based on popular Pixar and DC Comics intellectual properties.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame will launch on 26th February 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will release on 26th March 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.
