With The Game Awards 2018 just a month away, the man behind the show, Geoff Keighley, has some interesting things to says about the upcoming awards ceremony.
Keighley announced in a recent tweet that this year’s The Game Awards will host the biggest games announcement lineup yet since its inception four years ago. Furthermore, the event will stream across a record 40 global platforms.

Platforms with live translations include popular Chinese and Southeast Asian livestreaming services such as Wegame, Tamago, and more. Countries such as Taiwan, Korea, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and Russia will also get to watch the ceremony with live translations.
Keighley told GamesBeat, “This year there was quite a runoff, with a lot of games that wanted slots to be part of the show and share new content.”
It’s also always worth mentioning Keighley’s good friend, Hideo Kojima, whenever The Game Awards is concerned. When asked whether the auteur (famous for his work on Metal Gear) would make an appearance this year, Keighley responded that, ” Ah … yeah. He’s always there in some form.”
“But yeah, Kojima has been a great friend of the show over the years. We’ve shown, I think, two or three years of Death Stranding stuff.”
Nominees for The Game Awards will be announced on 13th November 2018.
The Game Awards 2018 will begin at Los Angeles on 6th December 2018.
