In true Elon Musk fashion, the eccentric billionaire has just announced some great new features that is set to come to Tesla vehicles and it’s as eccentric as he is. He took to Twitter (of course) to announce that customized horn & movement sounds (coconuts being one, of course) coming to Tesla’s soon.

He later added on to the tweet, teasing that fart and goat sounds are in the works as well. I don’t know about you guys, but this is great! Given the quiet nature of EVs, it seems like the logical thing to do. Allowing users to customize the sounds however, is bloody brilliant. It’s a fun take on a more serious problem that’s plaguing EV’s.

A study conducted in 2009 that found that blind pedestrians were more susceptible to accidents around EVs due to their minimal noise. It has been estimated that the inclusion of these noise makers will save about 2,400 people from injuries as well as US$320 million in damages due to collisions.

To be honest, adding fart noises and goat sounds will probably make it even more confusing for blind pedestrians so it’ll be interesting to see what the full list of sounds ends up looking like, but we hope there are some cool ones like the sound of an F1 car.
