TCL, a company known for the television sets have made their way into the smartphone market under the name, TCL Communication. The TCL PLEX is a smartphone that has an emphasis on their display as well as camera optimisation with their proprietary tech, TCL NXTVISION. This helps in delivering enriched colours, clarity contrast and in real time.

The TCL PLEX comes with a 6.53-inch FHD+ TCL Ditch Display, which boasts a 90% screen-to-body ratio, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of Storage, and a triple camera setup of 48MP + 16MP + 2MP. There’s HDR 10 support, as well as automatically scaling from SDR to HDR, but currently, it doesn’t support Netflix. Which is pretty weird, but they did mention they’re working on getting support for it. Overall it looks true to what they sought out to do, of bringing their display to a mobile form factor.

The main camera on the rear is a 48MP ultra high-res Sony sensor with 4K recording, as well as a 2MP 2.9μb big pixel low-light sensor video camera. There’s also a 16MP 123 degree super wide-angle lens, and it’s also capable of 960 FPS super slow-motiom.

It also has a 3820 mAh battery with 18w fast charging, so that’s a pretty solid battery for the price. Oh, and it costs RM 1199, if I forgot to mention that.

The phone has some pretty subtle features that make it a bit unique in my perspective. As they mentioned during the event, you can set a fingerprint to different fingers, for it to open specific apps. As the presenter mentioned, he has his middle finger set to open up the calculator. Stuff like that can make a phone more interesting to use.
