Some one at Android Central found out that TAG Heuer is releasing an update, or perhaps a replacement to its TAG Connected.
TAG Connected is a smartwatch with a price tag of $1,500. The successor Tag Connected Modular is said to be released on 14th of March this year. According to the sources, the Android Wear 2.0 will have fully customizable lugs, with a choice of straps and clasps to swap as you like. The wearer can also swap interface between the digitally connected watch body and the more traditional automatic movement, thanks to a “custom automatic watch head module”.
TAG Heuer saw a demand of 80,000 for its TAG Connected watches last year. That is greatly exceeding expectations – with the original goal being 20,000 units. However, TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver was quick to note that he considers smart watch technology to still be in “the stone age”, with plenty of future potential in the market.
The rumour didn’t come with a probable price tag so no one knows if it’s going to be more expensive that its sibling.
