Femme Fatale Falke Joins Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition Roster

It’s no longer rare to see new characters enter the Street Fighter series. Indeed, new femme fatale Falke is the New Challenger for the Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition’s Season 3.  She joins up on the April 24 2018. She is an all-new character to the Street Fighter series with a unique fighting style to boot. Owners of Street Fighter 5 can obtain Falke by paying 100,000 Fight Money, or by paying US$5.99.

Falke is also part of a Character Pass system that includes Sakura, Blanka, Falke, Cody, G, and Sagat for the price of US$29.99.

Unlike most Street Fighter characters, Falke uses a weapon in the form of a staff imbued with Psycho Power. Existing characters such as M.Bison and Ed tap into this energy source. In her story description, Falke is said to be a clone of M.Bison who is rescued by an alternative clone, Ed. The two share a sibling-like bond and travel the world in search for others like them.

The staff Falke uses, which goes by the name Harmony, is able to project energy blasts at high-speeds. Simply put, it operates like a big laser gun of sorts and works well with her close-range attacks.

Falke has an array of special moves to utilise. It mostly features easy single-button inputs that break-away from Street Fighter’s traditional movement-based inputs. Her play-style is very similar to Season 2 newcomer Ed.

By holding down any punch button and then releasing while:

  • Standing (Psycho Kugel)
Falke releases the Psycho Power through her staff like a shotgun.
  • Jumping (Psycho Feder)
Falke shoots a projectile at a diagonal angle downwards from the air.
  • Crouching (Psycho Kanonen)
Falke lays on the ground and shoots a projectile at the opponent’s feet. She can also avoid projectiles while using Psycho Kanonen.

Additional special moves include:

  • Psycho Schneide
By pressing any two punch buttons at the same time, Falke performs an uppercut.
  • Katapult
Pressing two kicks results in Katapult, a forward-moving pole vault that ends with a kick.
  • V-Skill: Psycho Trombe
Falke performs her V-Skill when the player presses medium versions of punch and kick together. Falke extends one arm and spins her staff in front of her. Psycho Trombe cancels into various normal moves and can also absorb projectiles.

Falke performs her V-Trigger when the player presses the hard versions of punch and kick together:

  • V-Trigger Version 1: Staerken
A two-block V-Trigger in which Falke magnifies the Psycho Power in her staff. When Falke uses Kugel, Feder, or Kanonen, she no longer needs to charge up in advance.
  • V-Trigger Version 2: Psycho Angriff
A three-block V-Trigger which increases her versatility with her staff. Upon activation, Falke gains access to new movesets and move properties that increase her combo and damage potential.

Lastly:

  • Critical Art: Psycho Fluegel
With a Psycho Power-charged staff, Falke launches opponents into the air. She pole vaults to meet her opponent, whacks them sideways with Harmony, then slams them down with an overhead swing.

Purchase of Falke with real money comes with a Battle Costume, as well as unlocked colours for that and her default costume. Her Battle Costume and Story Costume are also being released with the character. Interestingly, the latter legit gives meaning to the name Femme Fatale Falke.

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is available now on PC and Playstation 4.
