Sony Unveils New Super-Telephoto And Ultra-Wide Lenses For Alpha Cameras

Sony has announced the launch of the FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS, its first 800mm super-telephoto zoom G Lens, and the FE 16mm F1.8 G, an ultra-wide-angle lens designed for high-resolution imaging and portability.

The FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS offers high-resolution performance across its zoom range, smooth bokeh, and fast autofocus. Its inner-zoom mechanism ensures stable handling, while compatibility with 1.4x and 2x teleconverters extends its focal length to 1600mm. Designed for wildlife, sports, and landscape photography, the lens features Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilisation for handheld shooting and a durable, dust- and moisture-resistant build. It will be available in Malaysia from March 2025.

The FE 16mm F1.8 G is a compact, lightweight G Lens offering an ultra-wide 16mm angle of view with outstanding resolution and bokeh. It features two XD linear motors for fast and precise autofocus, optimised for both still photography and video. The lens also reduces focus breathing and supports in-body Active Mode image stabilisation for stable video capture. It will be available in Malaysia from April 2025.
