Amazon echo is inspiring the like of Sony to design the LF-S50G a wireless speaker with the Google Assistant built-in. The rush to make ‘speaking’ speakers is the phase we are in at the moment and Sony’s LF not only provides high fidelity music and 360-degree sound but also responds to gesture.
This feature sets the LF apart from the others, the “Gesture Control” feature allows users to adjust the volume or skip to the next track without directly touching the speaker, and simply by waving hand nearby. Sony has added a splash-proof capability in case the unthinkable occurs especially in the kitchen. With the built-in Google Assistant functionality coming end of the year, you can speak directly and can start using LF as you would any other smart device, like echo you can initiate audio or video playback, keep up with the latest news, and even control audio devices, lights, and other wi-fi connected IoT devices that works with the Google Assistant.
