Sony Mobile Communications held the Malaysia showcase of its Xperia NXT series. The series is made up of Xperia S as Sony’s flagship phone while joining it later are Xperia P and Xperia U. That is not the last of Sony’s smartphones as the recently announced Xperia sola, which features Sony’s floating touch was also previewed at the showcase.
The Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U belongs to the Xperia NXT series, which features the “transparent element” encircling the base of the phone and illuminating when receiving calls, texts and notifications. All phones are launched on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich during the second quarter of 2012.
The Xperia S will be available on 16th of March via selected operators (Maxis, DiGi, Celcom and UMobile) and in stores nationwide from 21st March onwards for a retail price of RM1,899. It also comes with accessories worth RM534 for a limited time. As for the Xperia P, Xperia U and Xperia sola, it will be available in Q2 of 2012.
