Sony has come out with their new lineup of cameras and photography softwares. The main focus of the event so far, had been their new compact camera. The RX0 II is touted to be the ‘world’s smallest and lightest premium ultra compact camera’. The RX0 Mark 2, comes in a really small form factor. It’s like a GoPro, but better. It features a 15.3MP image sensor, in a waterproof rugged body. The slogan for this camera, as said by Sony, is ‘Tiny but tough’. It will also feature 4K internal recording as well as a new image stabilization solutions to dispel all of us from shaky footage.
Another feature that seems to be exclusive to Sony and their new line of cameras, is the Auto-Focus(AF). In the RX0 II, there’s Sony’s Eye AF. This improves the speed, accuracy and operation of the the Eye AF to capture better portraits. The focus will be assigned to the left or right eye, or even left on auto to let the camera decide. Other, less exciting but also relevant pieces of equipment by Sony was also released. But in my opinion, the RX0 II takes top prize, and it seems like Sony seems to think so too. The event focused heavily on it, but there were other things at the event.
Sony are also releasing a new G Master lens, the α6400, and rebirth of α9. The G Master Prime Lens is more towards the professional, looking for the best resolutions and Bokeh. It also features faster AF speeds, which seems to be trend now. The α6400 is Sony’s next gen Mirrorless camera with real-time Eye Autofocs, Real time tracking, and the World’s Fastest Autofocus. Sony have claimed that the Autofocus has a 0.02 acquisition speed. Check out our in depth article on the camera, linked here.
The RXO II will be available in May, and will be going for RM 2799.
