Remember earlier this year when the first trailer for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie came out? How could you forget, right? The trailer was unsettling to say the least. Hollywood had yet again butchered a beloved video game character. I mean, they gave Sonic teeth for crying out loud! Why would anyone do that?!

That being said, it was universally panned and director Jeff Fowler swiftly announced the movie would be put on pause until the studio got the design right. Today, a good 6 months since the release of the original trailer, Paramount pictures have released the brand new revamped trailer.

It goes without saying that this looks infinitely better than the original. The new trailer, which has thus far received an outpour of gratitude and relief from fans, sees Sonic take on the smaller, plusher figure that we all know and love. To be honest, though, it wasn’t mission impossible. The original Sonic looked way too much like a human being. All they had to do was get rid of his human like eyes, human like teeth, and voila!

The trailer itself doesn’t really tell us anything that we didn’t already know about the movie but it does use the OG sonic music, which is quite literally music to my ears. The movie comes out Valentine’s day 2020 so good luck convincing your girlfriend’s to spend a romantic evening with Sonic.
