If you’re hankering for a new camera for your next getaway, but can’t be bothered to lug around a DSLR and the associated add-ons, then Canon’s got some good news for you, unveiling three new products that are compact enough to carry arund almost everywhere. The three said products are the PowerShot G1 X Mark II, the PowerShot N100, and the Selphy CP910. The former two digital compact cameras, while the Selphy CP910 is a photo printer that doubles as a wireless access point.
The PowerShot G1 X Mark II, catering to prosumers, rocks a large 1.5in CMOS sensor that is 4.5 times larger than most compact digital cameras. The 12.8MP pixel count, added with a f/2.0-3.9 9-blade aperture lens and 5x zoom lens (24 – 120mm) make it a great compact option for both professionals and ambitious amateurs. That said, it’s not all work and no play, as the snapper comes with a Creative Shot function and Star Mode – a mode that lets you shoot the starry night sky with superb clarity. The PowerShot G1 X Mark II has Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity for easy sharing and syncing across smart devices and printers. The device is priced at RM 2,899.
The PowerShot N100 is the successor to the petite PowerShot N that prided itself as a “selfie” camera. However, this time it has a few new tricks up its sleeve. The PowerShot N 100 has two cameras, with the main camera being a 24 – 120mm f/1.8-f/5.7 lens with 5x zoom, powered by a 12.1MP CMOS sensor. The dual-camera setup allows for the photographer to be in the shot, whether it be video or stills. The PowerShot N10o features Story Highlight mode, which compiles shots using algorithms based on themes like event, date or even person. The result is a 2 minute album. The PowerShot N100 is selling for RM 1,099.
The Selphy CP910 continues the Selphy lineage of portable photo printers, now also doubling as a wireless access point, eliminating the need for an external router. iOS users will be pleased to know that the Selphy CP910 supports Apple AirPrint, allowing users to print from their iOS devices and Mac computers without additional printer drivers. The printer is priced at RM 449.
