As most of you know, iPhones are chock-full of wonders. And according to Apple Insider, there may be an addition to the list, that could also be applied to Apple Watches. This new feature is designed to help improve the user’s sleep patterns and will have the ability to control alarms and notifications to allow users to have a good night’s rest before the wake up call in the morning.

The system collects data using a number of methods including various biometric sensors to create a sleep schedule and will then be able to determine the users’ sleep ritual, intent to sleep and actual sleep time. The information is then used to adjust or push back a previously set alarm to provide adequate sleep time.

It would also be equipped with smart reminders for attaining sleep goals and napping functions so that users can catch up on sleep during the day. The main objective of this system is to help users feel more rested compared to when using traditional alarm systems.
However, since this is still within the patent stage, there’s no way of knowing if Apple will actually integrate this system into its future devices. Either way, it would be fun to try it out.
