Shopee announces that the platform has achieved more than 50 million downloads regionally across all seven countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines. Its annualised gross merchandise value (GMV) recorded more than US$3 billion, while the active product listings as at more than 100 million, regionally. Shopee Malaysia alone managed to garner approximately 4 million downloads and more than 150,000 sellers nationwide.
Given the enormous success of the 9.9 Online Shopping Day last year, Shopee brings it back for 2017, only bigger and better. “This year, we will feature thousands of products across 20 categories in campaigns that we will guarantee the absolute lowest in the market. If you find a cheaper deal in another platform, we will refund you with 120% of the difference. That is our commitment to our buyers,” says Ian Ho, Regional Managing Director, Shopee.
He also mentions that Shopee’s ongoing incentives include Free Shipping Nationwide and Cash on Delivery, that will give more savings for customers.

Another highlight during the campaign includes official partners like PETRONAS selling 12,000 units of the Limited Edition Shopee branded PETRONAS Gift Cards, and 3,000 of those cards will be sold online at RM45 (worth RM50).
Since the 9.9 Online Shopping Day is also the birthdate of Colonel Sanders, KFC is giving out free two-piece combo (worth RM15.50) for every ninth registered user. Meanwhile, Digi will be setting up its first eCommerce platform on Shopee by selling prepaid top up cards. Apart from that, on the banking side, all CIMB, Public Bank and RHB customers will enjoy additional 10% off on all items during the campaign period.
