While bridging various ICT trends and enabling them to work hand-in-hand is not rare, SAP wants to raise the ante; critical to this is the opening its SAP Leonardo Center in Singapore. This move will see the platform help a variety of ecosystems and businesses accelerate their digital transformation.

This initiative, operating on SAP expertise and deep insights, aims to be purposeful in its role. In wanting to support the small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME), SAP Leonardo adheres to six focus pillars; they are: customer success, digital leadership, Cloud innovation, SME hyper-growth, employer choice, and purpose-led impact. Of course, all six will provide the necessary data businesses need to expand its understanding of the digital space.
“Launching SAP Leonardo in Singapore will enable us to achieve the goal of introducing influential impact to the global society; specifically, for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). Our general aim is to improve the socio-economy status of all; at the same time, we want to expand beyond our 40,000 client count,” shares Scott Russel, President, SAP Asia Pacific and Japan.

Of the six pillars that Russel discusses in his keynote address, the most important are SME hyper-growth and purpose-led impact. Both are closely link to what SAP has in mind for the next four to five years. “With this new SAP Leonardo Center, we want to reach that target by 2022; of course, we are going to achieve this with enough impact and loads of heart,” he adds.
While there are plans in place to expand customer touch-points, there is still a lot of ground to cover. To truly create deep and insightful results, challenges – current and upcoming – need to have results that are truly influential.

According to Mala Anand, President, SAP Leonardo and Analytics, SAP, most of these speed bumps tie-in with future work processes; namely transformation, optimisation, and engagement. Knowing these are the first areas to immediately address, Anand believes businesses should engage with current and next-gen ICT trends.
“SMEs can move into the digital space by putting technology innovations into their day-to-day operations. That is one of the best ways to quickly roll-out concepts like artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Machine Learning. Once they have a keen understanding, it’s only a matter of applying them on real-world context activities,” Anand adds.

Of course, immediate considerations include solving current business problems and driving new outcomes.
This is how the new SAP Leonardo Center in Singapore, for APJ, will operate as it nurtures a collaborative business environment. Additionally, this platform will also serve as a hub for broader digital technology ecosystems for SAP.

Beyond SMEs, the business analytics platform provider wants to engage the broader ecosystem of universities and start-ups.

“SAP Leonardo has loads to offer from a business stand-point. Even so, this regional initiative is keen to prepare the next-gen innovators from the APJ region. This is part of our empowerment efforts as we help move the world into the digital future,” Russell notes.
