Straight out of Samsung’s C-Lab, is this revolutionary new support carrier that’s chalk full of tech and ergonomically designed. Samsung have opted to call it the ‘Dr. Macaron’ due to the macaron-shaped sensor that’s placed in the seat. This sensor sends data to an app on the user’s phone in real time, allowing parents to keep track of the leaps and bounds their baby is making throughout the day.
Far from being a gimmicky project, the Dr. Macaron baby carrier is designed to overcome some of the traditional issues around products such as these.
First of all, weight reduction and distribution was key. Using a ‘Convertible Hipseat System’ that can be adjusted with one hand, parents can raise or lower the seat of the carrier, to move weight from the shoulders to the waist.
Another element to change was the design. Many baby carriers are busy looking things with buckles, straps and other contraptions in plain sight. With the Dr. Macaron, all of these ugly parts are hidden away, and a light ivory colour scheme was chosen.
Oh, and the macaron-shaped sensor we talked about, it can tell you when your baby needs a diaper change, and whether you’ve been straining yourself with the carrier for too long.
