Samsung Waives SST For All Devices

For those anxious about the Sales & Service tax and the price increase over their intended dream smartphone purchase can now breathe a sigh of relive with Samsung deciding not to impose the 6% tax on their devices.

With the Finance Ministry already stating that prepaid reloads will also be waived from SST, owning a smartphone in Malaysia can never be more affordable than ever. Samsung will be maintaining the prices for smartphones, tablets and wearables including the latest Galaxy Note9. A substantial savings could be attained from the premium range as phones priced above RM2000 a total of RM120 of SST is now waived.

This could be an opportune time to own a Samsung device, for those waiting for Apple or other brands launch later in the quarter will have to contemplate if these company’s will be absorbing the 6% like Samsung has.
