Samsung Electronics has retained its No.1 global position in the gaming monitor market for the sixth consecutive year, with a 21.0% market share in 2024, according to the latest IDC Worldwide Gaming Tracker report.
The South Korean tech giant also emerged as the global leader in OLED monitors for the second year in a row, commanding 34.6% of the market, just two years after launching its first OLED display.
“Samsung’s momentum in the gaming display market reflects our relentless pursuit of innovation and deep understanding of what today’s gamers need,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics.
Samsung’s dominance is attributed to its Odyssey gaming monitor line-up, which includes:
- Odyssey 3D (G90XF) – a 27-inch glasses-free 3D monitor with eye-tracking, Reality Hub for 2D-to-3D conversion, 165Hz refresh rate, and 1ms GTG response time.
- Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) – available in 27” and 32” options, featuring 4K 240Hz QD-OLED panels, 0.03ms GTG response, and OLED Safeguard+.
- Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF) – a 27” QHD QD-OLED model with a 500Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response, set to launch in 2H 2025.
All models support NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, reducing stutter and lag for smooth gameplay.
Samsung’s Quantum Dot OLED technology remains central to its success, delivering rich colour, contrast, and brightness across wide viewing angles.
The Odyssey 3D and Odyssey OLED G8 are now available in Malaysia with up to RM500 off during a limited promotion running from April 21 to 30, 2025.
